taylorcocks to offer free tax advice at Reading business exhibition

One of the UK’s top business advisers and chartered accountants, taylorcocks, is offering free tax advice at a special Tax Clinic during Reading’s largest business to business Expo, Keeping Business Local.

The free half hour Tax Clinics will take place on October 19th at the Madjeski Stadium between 9:30am-5:30pm.

The Clinics will be lead by taylorcocks’ tax director, Paul Taylor (CTA ACA), and will assist business owners and mangers with their tax related questions and problems. Paul is a leading authority on tax issues, having spent his entire professional life working in the field of tax. He now heads up taylorcocks’ tax planning department and regularly advises businesses, including other firms of accountants and solicitors, on tax issues.

Paul said: “The UK tax system is one of, if not the most, complex in the world and trying to understand it can leave most businesses feeling more than a little confused. Failure to comply with the tax regulations can result in severe penalties, which most small businesses can ill afford to pay.

“The taylorcocks Tax Clinics will provide valuable advice to help businesses avoid the pitfalls of this complex system. They will also help businesses identify some top tips and tricks to make the tax system work better for them, which could potentially lead to significant tax savings.”

Further advice on managing company finances will also be presented by Richard Jones, who heads up the Reading office of taylorcocks and managing director, Ian Cocks. Richard and Ian will be presenting a session entitled ‘The top five things your accountant didn’t know, and you were afraid to ask’. The free seminar offers expert advice on how to strengthen your bottom line with better financial management.

Richard said: “Most business owners do not profess to have a deep understanding of the complex law and binding financial regulations that they must adhere to. Therefore there is no reason to suggest that they should ever need to question the expertise of their accountant - is there? The truth is, not every accountant knows every trick in the book and not every accountant has the time to keep in touch with changes in regulations that happen on an ever increasing basis.

“The aim of this seminar is to give business owners a clearer understanding of financial regulations and how they can be used to benefit a company. The session will leave participants with a much better understanding of how to manage their finances more efficiently.”

The taylorcocks Tax Clinic and seminars on offer are FREE to attend, but must be booked in advance by contacting the event organisers on 0118 008 0074.
