taylorcocks sets up new Southampton office headed by new equity partner
One of the region’s top rated accountancy firms and business advisers, taylorcocks, has grown its offering in the South by expanding its operations in the Southampton area.
The new office, at International House, Southampton International Business Park, will be headed up by the recently appointed Julian Sheppard, who joins the firm as an equity partner.
The ambitious firm, which secured over 200 new clients in 2009, is enjoying one of its most successful periods of growth since it was established in 1996 and has further expanded as a result of increased demand for its services in the Southampton area. Taylorcocks now has seven offices in locations across Southampton, Portsmouth, London, Oxford, Reading, Farnham and Bournemouth, and employs more than 100 people.
Julian Sheppard said: “taylorcocks has enjoyed a fantastic period of growth over the last year. Our highly professional and tailored offering coupled with a focussed approach on customer satisfaction has lead to a high percentage of referrals in the Southampton area.”
“Southampton is a very important business hub, presenting some excellent opportunities for our team of talented accountants. Our new office will allow us to continue to expand and bring new people on board.
Julian said of his appointment: “It’s great to be working with an innovative group of professional people targeting services to the entrepreneurial and owner managed business sector. Helping these companies and using a network of high net worth individuals across the South creates a dynamic client base with plenty of opportunities. I look forward to helping our clients grow their businesses by adding value and working closely together with them with regular contact and at sensible fees.”
Julian has an entrepreneurial background himself having started his own accountancy and business advisory practice in 1987 before selling to Grant Thornton in 2001. He has also been finance director and shareholder in three other businesses - one floated on AIM, one sold to a public company in 2007 and his own sales and engineering business sold in 1997 to an American group.
Paul Taylor, head of taylorcocks’ tax services, said: “The appointment of Julian and the opening of our new Southampton office underlines our commitment to grow the business. Julian will be an asset to the company and I am confident that his expertise and skills will help taylorcocks maintain and accelerate its industry-leading performance."
