Ian started the firm with Sharon Cocks in 1992 and is responsible for the day to day operation and future development and direction of the business. Through Ian’s drive, ambition and market led approach, taylorcocks has grown into one of the top 100 accountancy firms in the UK. When Ian isn’t thinking about the business, he spends his time on the board in support of Portchester Community School.

Sharon Cocks
Client Relationship Director ACA - Audit and Accountancy
Sharon started the firm with Ian in 1992 after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1990. After spending several years heading up the accounts and audits department, Sharon now acts as the financial director for taylorcocks. Sharon uses her wealth of experience in managing clients across a diverse range of industries to support the growth and development of other team members.

Paul Taylor
Tax Director CTA ACA - Specialist Tax Planning
Paul has spent his entire professional life working in the field of tax, and heads up the firms technical tax department dealing with all aspects of taxation including company re-organisations, management buy-outs, share option schemes as well as advising on complex technical matters. Paul has gained an enviable reputation for being able to 'think outside the box' in his approach to solving clients tax related problems that often lead to novel and effective solutions. When not working Paul spends most of his time trying to teach his two boxer dogs new tricks and trying to get fit.

Miles Auckland
Client Relationship Director MAAT FCCA - Audit and Accountancy First started working in practice in 1990 and joined taylorcocks early in 2001 working from the Portsmouth office. Joined the Farnham office shortly after it opened in 2002 to look after a growing number of new clients. When not working, free time is spent enjoying the company of his young family (honest) and following Portsmouth FC.

Heading up the Thames Valley Office, Ian is a Chartered & Certified Accountant, and member of the Institute of Taxation with over 25 years of private practice experience. Ian’s particular specialisation covers financial management & reporting, business tax, corporate finance and accountancy litigation support.

Simon Howell
Client Relationship Director FCCA - Audit and Accountancy Has over eight years of practice experience having entered accountancy after leaving college. Qualified in 2001 having followed in father's footsteps and studying ACCA. Is a fully devoted Ipswich fan which clearly demonstrates a determination to succeed (or complete stupidity depending on whether you are a Norwich fan or not!)

Allison joined taylorcocks in 1999 and qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser a year later. She has since built up over ten years’ experience within the firm’s technical tax department dealing with all aspects of taxation and providing clients with bespoke solutions to their particular tax issues. In her spare time, Allison is a keen runner and a dedicated member of the taylorcocks netball team. She is also a lifelong Pompey fan.

Alan heads up our Charities and Not for Profit business having joined the firm in 2010 from a Top 20 firm where he headed the team in this sector. Alan’s spare time is spent watching AFC Wimbledon and Surrey CCC, which proves he has a sense of humour!
